Is Gabriel Sterling Jewish? Details About The Man Making A Testimony On Jan 6 Hearings

The Jan. 6 committee will hear testimony from Gabriel Sterling, a top election officer in Georgia who openly refuted former President Donald J. Trump’s bogus allegations of election fraud in the 2020 election.

As the hearings continue, people speculate the man follows Judaism considering the past records of his support to the community.

Georgia-born politician and election official Gabriel Sterling represents the United States. He oversees operations for the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. He had previously served on Sandy Springs, Georgia, municipal council.

Is Gabriel Sterling Jewish?

Gabriel Sterling cannot be called a Jewish but is a great supporter of the people who follow it. He has never really mentioned his religious faith anywhere but is more inclined toward extending his support for the people who are facing unfair treatment in society.

If you go deep into his family background, he was born in Georgia around the 1970s. His last name Sterling is unlikely to be Jewish unless it was anglicized when someone immigrated to this country, which happen often as European Jews arrived at Ellis Island.

However, there are few traces where people from Argentina have the same surname and are Jews.

Typically, a person’s surname alone cannot reveal their Jewish background. Actually, the only surnames that are typically exclusively Jewish are Cohen, Levy, and Israel (and their variants). Even yet, it’s possible that some of the variants of these popular surnames for Jews are not Jewish in origin.

Gabriel Sterling’s Religious Faith Explained

Gabriel took Twitter on January 27, 2021, where he tweeted “Today, January 27, is Holocaust Remembrance Day. With the passing of so many Survivors, it is incumbent on all of us to remember the horror of what happened…and to always say “Never Again”.

Him showing support to the community and completely discarding what happened to the Jews is more of an act of humanity than his religious belief. Sterling talking about this has made people claim that he follows Judaism in the comment section when there is very little truth to it.

However, this is not the first time where we see Sterling extending his brace to the community. On December 10, 2020, he retweets a post of news where it is said that Trump announced Morocco to normalize ties with Israel tweeting, “More good news on the Israel peace front as another Islamic nation, Morocco normalizes relations with the Jewish state.”

In September 2020, he outs a post on Facebook and wishes his Jewish friends an easy and meaningful fast from that Yom Kippur. To this, he did get a lot of hatred from the Anti-Jewish community. One comment says that he must be a crypto-Jew.
