Is Brian Kelly still in Florida Georgia Line?

Brian Kelly is no longer in the American country music group Florida Georgia Line.

Brian Kelley, from Ormond Beach, Florida, was a star pitcher on his high school baseball team, leading to a scholarship at Florida State University; he then transferred to Belmont University after it became clear to him he would not succeed in the sport.

He began learning to play guitar and write music inspired by the Christian rock group Casting Crowns.

Whereas Tyler Hubbard, a native of Monroe, Georgia, was a church worship leader who formed a hip-hop group, Ingenious Circuit, in his teens.

The pair met at Belmont University in 2008 through a campus worship group, and following graduation, decided to give themselves two years to succeed as a country duo.

Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard formed the Florida Georgia Line in 2010 and began as a cover band.

In December 2011, they signed to the Big Loud Mountain label. Their second EP, It’s Just What We Do, was released in 2012 and charted on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

A couple of months later they signed with Republic Nashville, part of the Big Machine Label Group. The duo subsequently released several albums including Anything Goes, Dig Your Roots, Can’t Say I Ain’t Country, and Life Rolls On.

In February 2022,  Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard announced they will be “taking a break” from recording music together and will be on an indefinite hiatus from touring after several live shows they have booked in 2022.
