Meet Ashleigh Gardner’s Parents Jim and Katherine

Ashleigh’s parents are Jim and Katherine Gardener. Her mother’s ancestors are from the Muruwari tribe. They are from rural Wales.

Both parents are less well-known, although the cricketer constantly mentions them in her interviews. Aaron is her brother’s name. Gardner had never been to Muruwari land, the home of her mother’s relatives, for years.

She grew up as a proud Aboriginal lady, but the Australian all-rounder has been eager to learn more about her Muruwari ancestors for the past three or four years. Still, a demanding cricket schedule, followed by the COVID-19 lockdown, has stopped her from visiting the area.

Ashleigh Gardner Had A Wonderful Game Against India In Commonwealth Games

As women’s T20 cricket marked its Commonwealth Games start at Edgbaston on Friday, Ashleigh Gardner helped save gold medal favorites Australia against India.

The top order of the reigning 20 & 50-over world champions had early failed in response to India’s 154 for eight, with Meg Lanning and Alyssa Healy among those to fall cheaply.

Gardner kept Australia in the game with an unbeaten 52 from 35 balls, while leg-spinner Alana King scored the winning runs off Deepti Sharma to clinch a three-wicket triumph with an over to spare.
