Who Is Hamish Brayshaw?
Hamish Brayshaw is a well-known Australian rules footballer. He began his career as a rules football player.
Hamish played in 2017 as an overage player in the TAC Cup system alongside younger brother Andrew and with VFL side Sandringham Zebras. The Eagles selected the diligent midfielder late in the draft after Fremantle took Andrew with choice number two.
Unfortunately, Brayshaw needed knee surgery during the preseason, which forced him to miss the first half of 2018. He returned in the middle of the season, first with East Perth’s reserves, before breaking into the senior team and turning up some impressive performances late, notably a 41-possession game against East Fremantle.
Brayshaw battled ailments in the early half of 2019, including a spell of ‘turf toe,’ but finished strong, leading the Eagles’ new independent reserves team in disposals and tackles.
Despite this, he was delisted before the November draft, with the club pledging to redraft him and fellow midfielder Brendon Ah Chee if both were still available.
In a rousing win over St Kilda, Brayshaw made his debut late in the 2020 season but lost his position the following week and was delisted after the season due to an injury crisis.
