Alun Wyn Jones OBE is a Welsh professional rugby union player who plays for the Ospreys and the Welsh national team as a lock.
With 162 international appearances, 150 for Wales and 12 for the British & Irish Lions, he is the most capped rugby union player globally. Jones also holds the records for most Wales appearances and most Wales captaincy appearances.
He is the current captain of Wales and the former captain of the Ospreys and the British & Irish Lions during their tour to South Africa in 2021.
Is Alun Wyn Jones Playing Today?
Alun Wyn Jones will miss the 2022 Six Nations because of a shoulder injury. During the loss to New Zealand, the 36-year-old was forced off the field and will require surgery.
Jones, who is only under contract with the Ospreys until the end of the season, is said to be evaluating his options, but he is desperate to wear the red jersey of Wales at least once more.
The fear is that his shoulder, which he has dislocated twice in the last several months, will become a reoccurring problem that will only worsen if he continues to play.
It’s the same shoulder he injured before the British & Irish Lions tour of South Africa earlier this year, though he made a remarkable comeback and played in all three Tests.

Alun Wyn Jones Net Worth 2022 Revealed
Alun Wyn Jones’s net worth is estimated at around 2 million dollars. He is one of just four players to have been chosen to participate in all four Lions tours, which took place in 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2021.
However, the numbers mentioned above are just assumptions via various online sources. Jones is one of only seven Welsh players to have won three Grand Slams, and he was awarded the 2019 Six Nations Championship’s best player.
While in the Ospreys Academy, Alun Wyn played for Swansea RFC. He made his Ospreys debut against Leinster on September 4, 2005, and after many outings as a replacement, he made his first start against Border Reivers later that month.
