Is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain related to Neville Chamberlain?
Born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, Oxlade-Chamberlain is the son of former Stoke City, Portsmouth, and England international player Mark Chamberlain. His uncle, Neville Chamberlain, was also a professional footballer, as is his younger brother, Christian, who plays for Aldershot Town.
Oxlade-Chamberlain attended the independent St John’s College in Southsea, Portsmouth.[ He grew up as an Arsenal supporter.[8] He played rugby union as a scrum half or full back and nearly chose that sport over football when he was offered a trial at London Irish.
He also played cricket as a wicketkeeper, bowler, and opening batsman with southeast Hampshire. He was offered trials as a wicketkeeper-batsman with Hampshire but declined because it conflicted with his youth footballing duties.
