Ian Burnet was a Virginia Commonwealth University student when he went missing.
He was studying senior engineering, mathematics, and physics major during that time and lived in Richmond, Virginia.
One day, he took a bus to New York City to stay with friends in the area of 139th Street and Riverside Drive on December 26, 2011. And after two days, on December 28, he was last known to have contact with his parents through a text message that he sent to his immediate family.
Two days after texting his parents, Burnet texted his roommate in Virginia on December 30. He discussed his plans for his trip home with his good friend. And at last, he sent two text messages to the two females he was staying with in Harlem in the borough of Manhattan.
It’s a bit weird as Ian did not call his close ones but only texted them, which hints that those messages might be the doing of others.
Following his text messages to two female friends, it’s as if he vanished into thin air and has never been heard from again since then.
After police searched the apartment he shared with his roommate, they found his iPhone, which was behind his friends’ apartment. He only took his driver’s license, MetroCard, and credit cards.

Or perhaps it ended with disappointment and no results about his disappearance.
He has been missing since December 26, 2011, from New York City. And still, even after 11 years, the case has not reached anywhere.
Both New York and Virginia police are investigating the case, as per the sources. The concerned authorities believe that there is no foul play involved in Burnet’s disappearance.

According to one theory about Ian Burnet shared in the Facebook group, FIND IAN BURNET, it is written that a member of the group posted that the person kept seeing the same homeless man over and over again and believed it was Ian.
She eventually snapped a photo of the man and posted it to the group. However, it has not been identified to be him yet.
