Huw Edwards Illness: What Illness Does Huw Edwards Suffer From?
Huw Edwards suffers from depression. “I’m pretty clear that I have suffered – and do suffer – from depression,” the 60-year-old journalist remarked. Edwards, who has worked for the BBC since 1984, said in a program shown last year on the Welsh language network S4C that he has suffered from depression and has been “bedridden” since 2002.
Before beginning his training as a news apprentice at the BBC in 1984, Edwards spent a brief period of time gaining experience at the commercial radio station Swansea Sound. He joined BBC Wales as Parliamentary Correspondent in 1986.
Edwards has been the host of the recently launched BBC News at Five on the 24-hour BBC News channel since April 2006. On April 29, 2011, he hosted the BBC’s coverage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton’s nuptials.
