What is a simple contract in construction?
A construction contract is between a client that is seeking to build or remodel a new structure and a general contractor. The agreement will detail the general contractor’s scope of work including, payment, and rights to subcontract any of the tasks involved in completing the construction.
Do construction contracts have to be in writing?
Construction contracts do not necessarily have to be in writing. If contracts listed in the statute of frauds are not in writing, they cannot be enforced. Construction contracts sometimes fall within the terms of a state’s statute of frauds and therefore must be in writing in some instances.
