Can you machine wash Patagonia fleece?
Machine wash Capilene® garments in cool to warm water with a mild, powdered laundry detergent (nontoxic, biodegradable types preferred). Applying fabric softener or using dryer sheets in your laundering process it achieves the increased softness feel by depositing waxy agents on the surface of the fabric.
Does Patagonia fleece shrink?
Here’s why: the Patagonia staff weren’t sure if it would shrink in the wash or dryer (it did just a little, I can tell when the zippers do the “bacon” curl). I washed on a tap cold normal cycle and medium/low heat in the dryer. The slight shrinkage didn’t affect the wear or fit — I still love this sweater.
Can you put fleece in the washing machine?
Conveniently, fleece items are durable, so it is generally safe to wash in a washing machine. Turn your items inside-out and wash your fleece items on the gentle cycle using cold water. If you choose to dry your garment, set your dryer to its lowest setting and remove the item promptly once the cycle is finished.
Are Patagonia jackets machine washable?
It can be washed into a front-loading washing machine, in a permanent press setting, using a mild laundry detergent. Warm water of around 105°F / 40°C should be used, on a gentle cycle. Drying is not too complicated, because either a tumble dryer on a low setting, or a line/rack will work just fine.
Can you wash a down jacket with regular detergent?
There are 3 things you‘ll need to wash your down jacket: down soap, a front load washer, and a dryer with reliably low heat. While you can use regular detergents, they can strip away the natural oils in down and don’t always rinse out cleanly so I recommend using a cleaner specifically designed for down.
What laundry detergent is best for down jackets?
We recommend using Nikwax Down Wash for your jacket, but a gentle detergent like Woolite will work in a pinch. For down wash, I recommend using Granger Down Wash, Gear Aid ReviveX Down Wash, or Nikwax Down Wash. I’ve used them all and they work very well. You could use a regular detergent, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
