App Library organization

In fact, you can’t organize it. All your apps will appear in little four-square boxes. The upper left box is always Suggestions. This will show four apps that Siri has determined you are likely to use based on the time of day, your location, etc.

Create folders

On both iPhone and Android, tap and hold on an app, then move it with your finger on top of another app to create a folder. Then you can name it whatever you choose. For example, you could have one folder for gaming apps, another for social media, and another for shopping apps.

Automatic groupings

The App Library appears as a separate page on your home screen. After you’ve updated to iOS 14, just keep swiping left; the App Library will be the last page you hit. It automatically organizes your apps into folders that are labeled with a variety of categories.

While you can’t edit the App Library, you can make changes to your Home Screen. Long-pressing any app icon will let you move it to only the App Library by tapping Remove App then Move to App Library. You can even set iOS 14 only to put newly installed apps into the App Library.

Quickly reorder your iPhone, iPad home screen

Start to drag one of the app icons to an empty spot on your screen. With your finger still on the app icon, start tapping on the rest of the apps you want to relocate. As you tap on the icons, your iPhone or iPad will create a stack of apps that you’re moving.

To rearrange app icons on the Home screen, tap and hold one until all the icons start to jiggle. You can also tap and hold one, and then tap “Edit Home Screen” in the menu that appears. Then, start dragging icons wherever you want them on the Home screen.

Open the App Library

Once iOS 14 is installed, open to the home screen and keep swiping to the left until you bump into the App Library screen. Here, you’ll see various folders with your apps neatly organized and tucked into each one based on the most fitting category.
