To drain the reservoir, you should run the flosser and let the water flow out. The water will soon run out, and the waterline will be empty as well. After that, it is best to run the flosser for another 10 seconds to suck air through the tube and push out the remaining moisture.
Can I use Listerine in my Waterpik?
Can patients use mouthwash, Chlorhexidine, or Listerine in the Waterpik®Water Flosser? We recommend using warm water. Mouthwash – A small amount of mouthwash can be added to the water for flavoring and/or to enhance compliance. Chlorhexidine and Listerine – Have been clinically tested for use with the Water Flosser.
Can I put peroxide in my Waterpik?

When you fill the reservoir, you may wish to use a light salt water solution, a capful of hydrogen peroxide (go easy on the amount), or a little mouthwash in with the warm water.

Soak the Water Flosser tip in a container of 2 parts water, 1 part hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar for 5 minutes. Rinse the tip under warm water. For maximum effectiveness over time, we recommend replacing Water Flosser tips every 3-6 months.

Do you still need to floss when using a Waterpik?
Yes. Keep in mind that water flossers are only an adjunct to brushing and flossing. If you only use water flossers and don’t floss you can still get cavities in between your teeth. You need to break the contact between your teeth with floss.
