It’s not a legality issue. It’s likely the unit won’t have any outlets to plug any electrical devices. If you’re okay with that, then maybe it’s okay for your needs. Also, what you put into the unit and whether you arrange it like a place to hangout is not really the concern of the storage place since it’s your unit.
