How to know internet speed

Testing your WiFi speed with your phone

A good, broad-scope app is the Speedtest by Ookla app, available for both iPhone and Android. Like their web-based app, their mobile app can log your speed tests and track both download and upload speeds.

The speed of your internet connection is usually expressed as Kilobits or Megabits per second (Kb/s or Mb/s – note the small ‘b’ standing for bit.) Remember, 8 bits equal 1 byte, so to work it out you need to divide it by 8. So our equation is: 5 Megabits per second / 8 = 0.625 Megabytes per second.

A good download speed is at least 25 Mbps, and a good upload speed is at least 3 Mbps. Some people can get away with fewer Mbps and others need more—but that’s a good internet speed for most people.

So, you want to watch it in full HD qualitiy, so you could connect your PC to your TV and watch it on big screen. The movie in full qualitiy unripped would be around 4.5 to 5 GB big. For you, it shouldn’t be a problem, the download will be done in less than two minutes. So yes, that is extremelly fast.

With a download speed of 300Mbps, you can do almost anything you’d like to do at the same time on the internet, on multiple devices at the same time. For instance, you can watch online video on 12 devices at the same time in ultra-HD (4K) quality. With a 300Mbps connection, you can also download files fairly quickly.

Anywhere between 3 and 8 Mbps is considered okay for gaming. But depending on who else is using your internet and whether you’re calling or video streaming at the same time, this won’t be enough. Once you get into the 50 to 200 Mbps range, your speed is considered excellent.

What is a Fast Internet Speed? By most definitions, anything above 100 Mbps is considered “fast.” Once you start getting close to 1000 Mbps, the internet plan is called a “gigabit” service.

Good internet is speed is at or above 25 Mbps, with good internet speeds being 100+Mbps, so 400Mbps is more than good enough for gaming. But latency, upload and download speed, ping, and if your internet is wired or wireless are important factors for online gaming.

400 Mbps is a damn good speed. But what matters for playing online games(such as Fortnite, PUBG, FreeFire, etc.) is the ping of your internet connection. The lower the ping, the smoothly the game will run.

400 Mbps is an advanced speed that packs more of a punch than typical internet, and is tailored for businesses dealing with heavy online traffic and a good amount of devices to support.

What’s a good internet speed for working from home? We recommend a minimum of 50 to 100 Mbps download speeds for working from home, and at least 10 Mbps upload speeds if you upload large files to the internet.

All things being equal, 1 Gbps = 1,000 Mbps, and is more than 400 Mbps.

10-25Mbps: Moderate HD streaming, online gaming and downloading with a moderate number of connected devices. 25-40Mbps: Heavy HD streaming, online gaming and downloading with a lot of connected devices. 40+Mbps: Hardcore streaming, gaming, and downloading with an extreme number of connected devices.

For online gaming and live streaming, this speed is sufficient. This speed will be fast enough for streaming live while playing games or even for watching good quality videos at 720P resolution. However, the speed of 20 Mbps is more for those users who are daily streaming live and want a reliable experience.

Best Internet Speed for Streaming Gaming

If you want to stream your game for others to see, you’re going to need faster internet speeds than standard gameplay. For the best gaming experience, be sure to have upload speeds of at least 5 Mbps and download speeds of at least 50 Mbps.

Is 30 MBps download speed enough for streaming video? 30mbps is more than enough speed to stream video! You shouldn’t be worried about any sort of video streaming whether it beYouTube, twitch or Mobcrush( or any other streaming service for that matter) as long as your internet stays around that speed while streaming.

The FCC does recommend speeds less than 25 Mbps for many online activities, including streaming SD and HD video, gaming online and downloading music. However, these are minimum speed recommendations and do not account for connecting multiple devices or other factors that may slow your internet speeds.

Minimum Internet speed requirements to play PUBG Mobile

A simple Google search will suggest that comfortable online gaming can be achieved with internet speeds as low as 1-2 Mbps. This, however, is not necessarily true. Even if the internet speed is above average, it needs to be stable and not fluttering.

A 30 Mbps downloading speed is more than enough for a single user for streaming movies and videos in 4K definition. Also, if the speed is around 5 Mbps, you can watch videos and movies in a clear and good quality with less buffering problems. Moreover, we will suggest going for 30 Mbps to watch shows in 4K definition.

The minimum required speed for streaming Netflix is 3 Mbps for SD (standard definition) quality. Netflix recommends at least 5 Mbps for HD quality and 25 Mbps for Ultra HD or 4K quality. And while 25 Mbps might be enough for watching Netflix, remember that that’s enough internet speed for only watching Netflix.

For standard definition (SD) streaming you’ll need on average 2-3Mbps, for HD 5-8Mbps and for 4K UHD you’ll need 25Mbps minimum, but we recommend a connection of 50Mbps to cover all scenarios (live 4K broadcasts require more speed, for example).

The best Internet speed for HD streaming is 5Mbps, and if you go all the way up to 4K streaming, or ultra HD, your bandwidth should start at 25Mbps. You can get by on a congested network if you lower your app’s image quality settings, but for a consistently clear streaming experience, aim higher.

If you want to stream 4K content to get the best picture for your 4K smart TV, you’ll need a connection of at least 25 Mbps. Lower resolution content is less demanding, but even streaming 1080p HD video will require a 10 Mbps plan for smooth performance. And that’s all assuming you only stream to one device at a time.
