Do you have to be diagnosed to see a therapist?
Not every therapist will diagnosis their client. Some therapists will see no need for a diagnosis, others may feel the need to diagnose their client for insurance reimbursement reasons. For example, major label insurance companies require a diagnose to judge whether or not services are worthy of reimbursement or not.
What should you tell your first visit to a therapist?
Most likely, you‘ll find yourself talking about your current symptoms or struggles, as well saying a bit about your relationships, your interests, your strengths, and your goals. Most importantly, in that first session, you will begin making a connection with your therapist.
