It’s not hard at all. Just a bit time consuming and if you’re not carefull, painful. You can do it at home with some jackstands but if you have access to a lift the job is considerably easier. Basically, you’ll need to lift the car and remove the wheels.

Lowering springs are shorter in length (most of the time) compared to factory springs, your shocks will be riding lower in their travel than they were designed to be at while sitting at normal ride height.

Why lowering springs are bad?

Poorly done or extreme lowering can cause suspension and steering parts to contact each other, the wheels or the tires. It could also cause tires to rub the body during turns or going over bumps.

Should I get coilovers or lowering springs?

Coilovers are a great alternative to a lowering spring set up because they allow you to adjust your ride height and come in many setups, from daily use to full track rated. Unlike lowering springs, you are not stuck with a single and stiffness.

Do lowering springs ruin shocks?

In fact, Eibach’s Pro-Kit Spring Set and even their more aggressive Sportline Spring Set are designed around a vehicle’s original suspension.

Are Lowering Springs OK?

Lowering springs also change the geometry of your wheel/tire fitment. If it’s not done right, you can expect both accelerated and uneven tire wear. Your car could also bottom out over speed bumps and be even tougher to get up inclines, like your driveway, without scraping your bumper.

Is Eibach or H&R better?

H&R – Uses a very stiff 54SiCr6 alloy spring steel that has a higher progressive spring rate than the Eibach springs. That results in less body roll and firmer more precise suspension control. It also reduces the travel of the struts and shocks more than the stock (OE) springs.

But these springs are definitely worth it. Definitely improved handling, it feels a very nice stiff, and ride quality is way better in my opinion.
