How to install a staff gauge

How do you use staff gauges?

A staff gauge is like a big ruler that is used to measure water level. Feet and tenths of feet are labeled numerically and marked with longer hash lines. Between the tenths are 4 hash lines used for measuring hundredths of a foot. The top of the hash is one hundredth and the bottom of the hash is another.

What is staff gauge?

A Staff Gauge is a measuring tool, similar to a tape measure, used to provide a visual indication of the depth of water (typically in a river, flume, or weir). The level (or flow rate) on a staff gauge is indicated by graduated black bars.

How do river gauges work?

A man gages a stream by measuring water velocity (using a current meter) and water depth at several points along a cross-section of a stream channel. The height of water in the stream channel, known as a stage or gage height, can be used to determine the dischage in a stream.

How do you read gauges?

What is the formula for gauge pressure?

Gage pressure is indicated by pg, and is related to absolute pressure as follows: pg = p – pa, where pa is the local atmospheric pressure. Example: A car tire gauge measures a tire pressure of 32.0 psi. The local atmospheric pressure is 14.2 psi.

How do you read a kg kg2 pressure gauge?

The calculation below shows how kilograms per square centimetre are converted into pounds per square inch by converting each into pascals (SI units for pressure): 1 psi = 6,894.76 pascals (Pa) 1 kg/cm² = 98066.5 pascals (Pa) psi value x 6,894.76 Pa = kg/cm2 value x 98066.5 Pa.

What unit is kgf cm?

A kilogram-force centimeter (kgf·cm) is a metric unit of torque (also called “moment” or “moment of force”). One kilogram-force centimeter is equal to the torque resulting from a force of one kilogram-force applied perpendicularly to a one-centimeter-long moment arm.

How many bars is 1 kg?

PRESSURE CONVERSION FORMULAE:
1 BAR = 14.500 PSI 1 KPa = 0.0100 BAR
1 BAR = 1.0193 KG/CM2 1 KPa = 0.0102 KG/CM2
1 PSI = 0.0690 BAR 1 KG/CM2 = 0.9810 BAR
1 PSI = 6.8966 KPa 1 KG/CM2 = 14.225 PSI
1 PSI = 0.0703 KG/CM2 1 KG/CM2 = 0.0098

How do you convert kg to CM?

1 kilogram (kg) = 1000 cubic centimeter (cu cm).

How much is 1m3 in KG?

1 m3 / cu m = 1,000.00 kg wt.

How many cm are in me?

How can I calculate weight?

Weight is a measure of the force of gravity pulling down on an object. It depends on the object’s mass and the acceleration due to gravity, which is 9.8 m/s2 on Earth. The formula for calculating weight is F = m × 9.8 m/s2, where F is the object’s weight in Newtons (N) and m is the object’s mass in kilograms.

How do I calculate net weight?

The net weight of an item is its total weight (known as the gross weight) minus the weight of any containers or packaging the item is in (known as the tare weight). For example, the net weight of a tin of flour is the total weight minus the weight of the tin.

Why kg is used for weight?

In other words, the weight(force) of one kg is equal to one kgf, or 9.8N. Since there is no practical easy way to measure mass, in everyday life we use the kilogram as a unit of weight assuming that the gravitational field is fairly constant around earth.
