How to Fix : If a GE Nautilus Dishwasher Is Not Draining

How to Fix a GE Nautilus Dishwasher That Won’t Drain

The GE Nautilus dishwasher is an older model that comes in both built-in and portable versions. Although this model is no longer available, replacement parts are still available through authorised GE parts dealers. The fact that water does not drain after the cycle is finished is a regular problem with GE Nautilus dishwasher models. You can typically resolve this problem without the need for a service specialist, saving you money.

Disinfectant

Automatic dishwasher detergents are required for your GE Nautilus dishwasher. Oversudsing occurs when the improper kind of detergent is used, preventing the pump from draining water from the tub. Instead, the pump concentrates on removing the suds. Stop the dishwasher’s cycle and open the door. Allow the suds to dissipate before filling the tub with 1 gallon of water. To remove the water, press the “Start/Reset” button twice.

Clogs are a kind of footwear.

Clogs in the hoses, filters, or air gap are the most frequent causes of water not draining from your dishwasher. The air gap is near the sink, and the hoses are on the back of your washing machine. On the bottom of the tub, near the pump, are the filters. Disconnect the drain hose and use a flashlight to peek inside. To get to the filters, remove the bottom rack and spray arm. Using a plastic utensil, clean the components. Check your home’s plumbing to determine whether it’s draining properly. If not, clean the obstructions using drainage tools or products. If you want more help, contact a plumber. If the food waste disposer is attached to your GE Nautilus dishwasher, run it, and if you recently installed it, remove the knockout plug.

Valve to Drain

A drain valve with an internal solenoid is included in the GE Nautilus dishwasher. When the valve opens and shuts, the solenoid controls it. Connect the red and black probes to the solenoid using a multimeter to test it. Replace the solenoid if you get an open reading. Remove any food particles that may have been lodged in the valve. Any utensils or plates that are resting on top of the valve should be moved. If the valve lever becomes stuck, lubricate it.

Activate the pump

The dishwasher pump is in charge of sending water down the drain. Inside the pump, debris may accumulate. To get to the pump, remove the bottom rack and spray arm. Using a toothpick or a plastic tool, clean it out. Check to verify whether the pump is clean and if any parts are damaged. Blades on the impeller might distort or break off. If any portion of the pump breaks, you must replace the whole pump since it is tough to fix.
