How do you pay for Instacart orders?
We accept many forms of payment—all major US and Canada credit and debit cards, EBT cards at participating stores in select states*, China UnionPay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. At this time, Instacart doesn’t offer an Instacart-specific credit card.
Why did Instacart charge me $100?
For orders in process, we place a temporary authorization hold for a slightly higher amount than your estimated order total. This small difference accounts for potential changes in the final total due to special requests, added items, items replaced at a different price, and actual weight of items.
Do groceries cost more with Instacart?
Additionally, ordering from Instacart is more expensive than shopping at the store. This is not only because of delivery and service fees but also some items are priced higher through Instacart than they are in store.

Free for a minimum order of $30. Pickup is included in the Instacart Express membership, which is $149 per year, including 2 weeks free for new members. Non-Instacart members pay a curbside pickup fee that varies per retailer from free to $4.99. Minimum order is $35 for members and nonmembers.
Can you waive Instacart service fee 2020?
You can no longer choose to waive the service fee. This 10% fee is separate from the tip. We encourage you to tip your delivery person after the delivery—or before the delivery—because that tip actually goes directly to the person doing the work. To opt out of the service fee, place an order through InstaCart normally.
Do you tip Instacart curbside pickup?
Most store-backed programs specify that shoppers don’t accept tips. If you are shopping at a store that partners with Instacart, however, shoppers accept tips through the app (this is a bulk of their take-home pay). You should tip as generously as possible; 20 percent at the very least.
