How to copy minecraft worlds

Select Copy World

This creates a copy of your world that you can keep as a backup. Note: If you want to save backups of your worlds on a different device, see: Transferring Minecraft worlds to Another Device. Copying your world to a different storage media is another way to back up your worlds.

Bring both Windows Explorer windows to the front and drag your world folder from the server folder to the saves folder. Rename it anything you want. Done!

Back in the game, press the “t” key to bring up the ingame console box. Enter the command “/gamemode c” to change your game mode to creative. (If you want to switch back to survival mode, use the command “/gamemode s”.)

Navigate to the saves folder. Click on ‘. minecraft’ then ‘saves’. Finally, paste the world folder into ‘saves’.

To ensure that everyone can find an open world and join their friends in Aeternum, Amazon is offering the opportunity for all players to “relocate” their characters to a new server for free. This is essentially a free server transfer that players will be able to make use of from October onwards.

New World server transfer status

New World server transfers are currently live, however some players are unable to close all their open trading post contracts in order to transfer characters across. Additionally, there are a few reports of players being erroneously banned after transferring servers.

To transfer your character to a different server (once it’s up and running), you’ll need a ‘character transfer token‘. You can claim the first one free when you log in with your character and navigate to the in-game store.
