The four-year secondary education is characterized by the general assessment as the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) . This exam is usually only held in November, before students leave for the Christmas holidays. The results are often published in March the following year. This month is usually very tense for many students after elementary school. Therefore, it does not seem reasonable to verify the KCSE results in the appropriate institution.
Many students are often left with the choice of visiting their former schools to access their results. This often leads to long queues and doesn’t work well with the tension already built up. Most parents would not want to go through this time-consuming process just to know their children’s results, and often send the children to get the results themselves. It is often recommended that parents get involved on a personal level as you never know how the child will react if the results are not as expected. As a parent, you should always guide them through the process.
As technology advances, there are a few systems that one can use to check their scores and avoid the rush of going to their respective schools. You can check your results at any time using the SMS system. It’s very simple and user-friendly and will be billed with your service provider’s tariff. Another easy way is to check them online, as is the case in most developing and developed countries today.
Below I will show you how to check your KCSE results online.
Here’s how you can check your KCSE results online
Requirement
To successfully check your KCSE results online you must have the following available.
A computer is the most preferred option, making it easy for one to access the Internet. You can also access the Internet using a phone. However, always keep in mind which phone is being used. A smartphone with higher specs will work reasonably well, while other phones may have trouble accessing some of the websites that show the results. If you have access to a computer I would really recommend it. You can even visit a cyber cafe to make things even easier.
modem
Having a PC alone isn’t going to help you much. You need access to the internet; The modem helps you access the Internet. There are different modems in Kenya, including Safaricom, Airtel or Orange.
KCSE index number
You obviously need to know your index number as you enter it in a specific text field in order to facilitate the display of your results. Accuracy is important here, as you will have trouble accessing the results you want if you enter an incorrect index number.
Process: registration portal
The procedure is quite simple as you will only have to familiarize yourself with the websites that offer this type of service. You always get a number of options regarding websites to access your results. However, the main and most trusted source is: – http://www.knec.ac.ke – This is a KNEC website and as you know this KNEC is the official organization responsible for testing, labeling and releasing the final results responsible for.
On the website you will see a section with a Heading Check Results. The first drop-down selection allows you to select the type of test you want to check the results for from the menu. Note that these are also provided KCPE results as well. The second drop-down menu allows you to select the year. The third part is a text field where you enter the values of your index number. Always be very precise to get your results. At the end we have a submit button that you click and let the system process your results.
Depending on the internet speed and the system speed at the time, your results will be displayed on the screen.
You can also use this portal to register for your exams.
You can also use another website known as hapakenya.com and follow the same procedure as above. Then you’re good to go.
summary
You will always find it very easy to access your results online and you can never compare physically going to your school to get the same results. While this is one of the best ways to determine your scores, you must also visit the specific school for a preliminary scores report.
