SWAT medics are usually paramedics who have received specialized training in tactical medicine. Special weapons and tactics (SWAT) medics provide tactical medical care in situations that are often too dangerous for regular paramedics or ambulance workers.

The tactical medic’s level of training will determine what actions he or she can take in the field.
