How to ask god for guidance

Proverbs 1:5:

“Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.”

James 1:5–8

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.

Touch me, O Lord, and fill me with your light and your hope. Amen. Dear God, please give me strength when I am weak, love when I feel forsaken, courage when I am afraid, wisdom when I feel foolish, comfort when I am alone, hope when I feel rejected, and peace when I am in turmoil. Amen.

The basic forms of prayer are adoration, contrition, thanksgiving, and supplication, abbreviated as A.C.T.S. The Liturgy of the Hours, the seven canonical hours of the Catholic Church prayed at fixed prayer times, is recited daily by clergy, religious, and devout believers.

Loving God, I pray that you will comfort me in my suffering, lend skill to the hands of my healers, and bless the means used for my cure. Give me such confidence in the power of your grace, that even when I am afraid, I may put my whole trust in you; through our Savior Jesus Christ.

Padre Pio Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me. I thank you for sending your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, to the world to save and to set me free. I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me.

Lord God, I pray for Your protection as I begin this day. You are my hiding place, and under Your wings I can always find refuge. Protect me from trouble wherever I go, and keep evil far from me.

One of the most powerful prayers in the bible, Stephen’s prayer teaches us to be bold in our faith in God. We should keep honoring God with our conduct and words, hoping that others may see Christ in us. Even though many may turn against us and our message, some will follow Him.

Loving God, please grant me peace of mind and calm my troubled heart. My soul is like a turbulent sea. I can’t seem to find my balance so I stumble and worry constantly. Give me the strength and clarity of mind to find my purpose and walk the path you’ve laid out for me.

Have a talk with God.

Talk to God similarly as you would, if a physical person were standing in front of you. You can talk to God about your daily troubles, your thoughts at the moment, your hopes and dreams, and even tell Him (and tell yourself) the things for which you’re thankful.

This is the period to pray for God’s provision to be released (Luke 11:5-13; Acts 16:3). It is also time for miracles and for applying the Blood of Jesus. Often, we are awakened during this time with dreams God has given to us. He also reveals areas where we need to concentrate our prayers and intercession.

By waking up at 3 am to pray shows that you value being in His presence more than your sleep. It shows love, devotion and commitment. 3 am is a time when the entire world is asleep. Even the spiritual realm is also quiet.

It is believed that Jesus was crucified at 3pm (which in turn is now known as the most “godly” hour ) and exactly 12 hours later that is at 3am, the demonic activities set in. In hindsight, while demons are weakest at 3pm, they are strongest at 3am.

Some religious people believe that “God is speaking to you” at that hour. The number 3 has significant meaning in the Bible, but there is no biblical reference to waking at 3 a.m. Some people say between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. is the deceased zone or the witching hour, which again is not Biblically referenced.
