Talking to Starplus.com, the actor said, “I’m really blind in one eye.” He revealed he has a weird thing called uveitis (swelling of his retina). He continued, “So, it’s rendered my blind in my left eye.”
The treatment process caused him to wear cataracts. Later, it was speculated that it was actually cataracts that impaired his vision. Ronnie said that he hopes he will have his eyesight restored after getting his cataracts are removed.
At the time, he was filming the thriller Crawlspace and has had partial blindness for two years. However, Ronnie refused to allow his condition to affect his work and continues to live his passion.
He also admitted that the diagnosis initially took some time to get used to. Ronnie said, “When I go to sleep, I’m out of it. The lights are turned off, and I wake up, and it’s pitch dark, and I think I’ve gone completely blind.” The condition caused these night terrors for some time.
