Christopher Kise, a former Florida solicitor general, has joined former president Donald Trump’s legal team to represent him in the Mar-a-Lago search case, multiple individuals familiar with the recruitment have confirmed to CNN.
Trump’s legal team, including Jim Trusty and Evan Corcoran, will appear in court in Florida on Thursday to represent him in his attempt to have a special master appointed to the case. Kise will commence on Tuesday.
Trump has been looking for a Florida-experienced attorney for three weeks to bolster his team, but he has had trouble finding someone.

On Tuesday, Kise departed Foley & Lardner, the law firm where he had worked for more than ten years.
A spokesman for the company, Rachel Sisserson, announced that Christopher M. Kise, formerly a partner in our Tallahassee office, has left the company. Sisserson made a follow-up comment.
Kise’s biography page, along with all other press mentions and references, was taken down by the company’s website on Tuesday. For his legal practice, Chris Kise & Associates, Kise unveiled a new website.
The hiring comes as the former president’s associates have privately voiced concerns about his legal staff’s skill, given the situation’s gravity.
