The couple got married on December 22, 2000, at Skibo Castle in Scotland. Together they have two sons – Rocco (born on August 11, 2000) and David, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006.

Ritchie had once had problems with the law, following an alleged assault of a 20-year-old man outside his Kensington home.

Ritchie and Madonna got married in 2000 and divorced in 2008, due to irreconcilable differences.

The couple were given a joint custody agreement for their children.
