Arie Luyendyk Jr., the son of Arie and Mieke Luyendyk, moved to the United States with his family when he was three years old. They moved to Brookfield, Wisconsin, where he grew up with his sister Maida. Alec and Luca Luyendyk are Luyendyk’s younger twin brothers. In the year 2000, he graduated from Desert Mountain High School.
In the 2007-08 A1 Grand Prix season, Luyendyk served as the “rookie driver” for A1 Team Netherlands in the A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motorsport.
