Tom Netherton (born January 11, 1947) is a vocalist most remembered for his lengthy career on The Lawrence Welk Show. He is the son of Thomas Harold Netherton, Jr., who was born on January 11, 1947.

Netherton, who stands at a lanky six-foot-five-inch height, was born in Munich, Germany, as the son of a United States Army officer stationed in the city. He was the oldest of four children, and he and his family were on the road all the time. The Nethertons, on the other hand, made their permanent home in Bloomington, Minnesota, in 1961. Netherton served in the Army during the Vietnam War period, and he was sent to the Panama Canal Zone. By that time, he had also decided to pursue a musical career, singing with both the Army and the Air Force bands throughout his service. His conversion to Christianity occurred while listening to a sermon delivered at a Baptist church in Panama. He then spent a year at the Bethany Fellowship Missionary Training Center in Bloomington, where, after being divided between missionary work and a career in entertainment, he decided to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Christian singer Pat Boone, and pursue a career in Christian music.
