How Much Money Does Lucky Lehrer Make? Latest Lucky Lehrer Net Worth Income Salary

Flipside magazine selected Lucky Lehrer as the greatest punk drummer of all time, and he hails from Los Angeles, California. He began his musical career as a jazz pianist, but he is most known for his work with punk rock bands in Los Angeles, including the Circle Jerks, Redd Kross, Bad Religion, Darby Crash Band, and LA’s Wasted Youth, among others. Lehrer has also featured in three significant documentaries on the punk rock music movement, all of which are available on Netflix. He is the brother of Chett Lehrer, the guitarist for the Los Angeles band Wasted Youth.

Lehrer also teaches drums, and among his famous pupils are future Bad Religion drummers Pete Finestone and Bobby Schayer, both of whom went on to form Bad Religion. Lucky attributes his early musical beginnings to his mother, who passed away from cancer. “I gave up on guitar after six weeks, and she let me to try drums. Years later, she said that all of the noise in the home from hours of drumming practise did not disturb her,” Lucky recalls the woman saying. The early years of Lucky’s life were spent at places like Shelly’s Manne Hole, where he would watch Louie Bellson perform, or at the Brass Ring, where he would get so near to his hero, Buddy Rich, that he would tell him to “get outta here child, you disturb me.”

They frequented jazz clubs until his mother passed away, including Jaxx, Vibrato, and La Ve Lee, where Lucky met his guru, Los Angeles session drummer Joey Heredia, who later became his friend and mentor. After being involved in a car accident involving speed metal, he credits his interpretation of jazz and Latin drumming for developing his unique and syncopated technique. Buddy Rich and Max Roach, two jazz superstars, were among his first influences. Following that, he was influenced by John Bonham, Flamenco drummer Joey Heredia, and teaching pioneer Murray Spivak.
