Kim Peterson (a.k.a. “The Kimmer”) is a television and radio journalist in the United States. From Noon to 3 p.m. EST, he broadcasts a news/information talk show on Atlanta’s WYAY All News 106.7. He held a radio discussion show on WGST-AM in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1992 to 2006. He served in the Vietnam War as a United States Marine. Peterson worked as a television anchor in Chicago and New Orleans before becoming a radio host. Before joining WGST, he worked at WSB, a competitor news-talk station. Peterson would refer to his old company as “WSOB” and “WBS” after he was fired from WSB (and sometimes “We Suck and Blither”). Peterson was a supporter of the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots Christmas drive, and from 1997 to 2005, he released a comedy snippets CD, with all sales going to the cause.
He also held a charity golf tournament every year. Peterson is a passionate motorcycle rider. Members of Peterson’s support team at WGST began to lose their jobs between December 2005 and May 5, 2006. In December 2005, Jim Gossett, a voice impersonator who specialised in prior presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush, as well as vintage personalities like Johnny Carson, departed his position. Pete Davis, the sports director of WGST-AM, was fired two months later for reasons that were not made public. On May 5, Peterson’s producer, Wayne Kitchens, was fired as the final member of Peterson’s team. Kitchens shared a storey.
