Daniel Flores (aka Danny Flores; Chuck Rio) (July 11, 1929 – September 19, 2006) was a saxophonist who performed on his self-written song “Tequila,” which was a number one hit for The Champs in 1958 and the first rock and roll song to win a Grammy Award in 1959. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, and died in Los Angeles, California.

Flores was born in Santa Paula, California, to a family of Mexican field labourers. In Huntington Beach, California, he died as a result of pneumonia. Flores wrote and performed the song “Tequila,” which was originally released under the name Chuck Rio since Flores was under contract with another record company at the time.
