Only two coaches in Nevada’s history have been paid at least $1 million a year, and both were in men’s basketball. The current basketball coach at Nevada, Steve Alford, earns $1.15 million this season and has $11.1 million left on his deal, which extends until 2029.
Norvell’s new five-year contract included a base salary of $625,000 when he signed it before 2020. In 2021, he was paid $619,250 as part of COVID-19 reductions at Nevada.
Furthermore, Norvell’s base compensation in 2021 was $619,250, compared to $1.55 million for Addazio, making Norvell the league’s lowest-paid coach.
In 2022, Addazio was expected to earn $1.6 million. Norvell’s pay will be significantly increased if he joins CSU.
Jay Norvell Has Lowest Salary In MW- Find the Details Of His Pay
Jay Norvell’s salary at Nevada is considered the lowest one in MW. In addition, Colorado State boasts a new 41,000-seat stadium that opened in 2017 at the cost of over $220 million.
It also has an indoor practice facility, which the Wolf Pack does not have. In recent seasons, Norvell has interviewed for Power 5 jobs but has yet to receive an offer from one of those schools. In contrast, Colorado State has marked a Power 5 position in recent years without accepting an offer.
I had myself convinced that Joe Parker and CSU would make another really dumb football decision, but Jay Norvell is a solid hire. If he can win in Reno, he can win in Fort Collins. @CSUFootball #ProudToBe #CSURams

CSU may have been impressed with the kind of program Norvell has built in Nevada. Thus, if he decides to leave the team, the University of Nevada will be losing its head coach once again. The last time they lost a head coach to a rival was in 1993.
