Brooke Henderson won her second career major by closing the Amundi Evian Championship with three birdies in the final five holes on Sunday.
The Smiths Falls, Ont. native entered the final round in Evian-Les-Bains, France, with a two-shot lead, thanks mainly to being the first player in LPGA history to start a major with two games of 64 or lower.
The 24-year-old shot a 71 in the fourth round to win by one stroke over Sophia Schubert of the United States.
Henderson was in a six-way tie for first after bogeying the 11th hole, facing true adversity for the first time in days after leading the tournament for most of it.
