A few years back, in 2020, there used to be one more team in California. Oakland Raiders were previously known as the Los Angeles Raiders. In 2020, Raiders moved to Oakland after playing 12 seasons in Angeles.

In 1994, the team moved to St. Louis and won the Super Bowl in 1999, but moved back to Los Angeles in 2016. The Rams have won championships in three cities (Cleveland, Los Angeles, and St. Louis) and now play their home games in Inglewood at SoFi Stadium.

Currently, LA Rams are headed by coach Sean McVay who has Mike LaFleur as the offensive coordinator and Raheem Morris as the defensive coordinator. Chris Beake is the Linebackers coach, Kevin Carberry is the offensive line coach, and Eric Yarber is the Wide Receivers Coach.

Super Bowl LVI Champion

Los Angeles Rams had won the Super Bowl LVI. The highly motivated team had a great run during their regular games and was ranked in top positions in both the offensive and defensive spectrum.

In the regular season, Rams’ offense looked great, as they had ranked ninth in yards. Even the players were in exceptional form as Stafford led the league in interceptions, and WR Cooper Kupp surpassed the league in receptions, receiving touchdowns, and yards. Kupp is only the fourth NFL player to get the receiving triple crown, for which he was awarded as the MVP of the season.

Ram, in the 2021 season, looked good defensive team as well. The team had ranked 17th in yards allowed and 15th in points allowed. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald and Cornerback Jale Ramsey led the defensive campaign for the Rams.

With an impressive record in regular games, Rams had entered the playoff. In a Wildcard playoff, they beat Arizona Cardinals by 34-11, and in divisional play, off Rams beat Tampa Bay by 30-27. And lastly, to add icing to the cake Rams won the NFC championship by beating San Francisco by 20-17.

After winning the NFC championship, they moved to the Super Bowl LVI to face the AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams were giving their best to win the grand prize. Until the third quarter, LA Rams were losing the game by 16-20, but in the fourth quarter, the LA team bounced back and won the Super Bowl LVI championship by the record of 23-20.

Los Angeles Rams in the 2022-23 season

LA Rams in 2022 wanted to repeat the same performance they showed in 2021. They aspired to replicate the journey of winning the Super Bowl championship again, which the New England Patriots had only done.

But it was clear from the beginning that the defending champion was nowhere close to their previous season’s journey. In the very first game of the 2022 season, Rams lost against Buffalo Bills by 10-31.

The struggle continued throughout the season. For the 1st time since the arrival of head coach Sean McVay, the franchise had seen a record of 1-7. During the whole season, Rams struggled offensively and defensively.

The Rams had a winning percentage of only 0.294. This record was the worst record by any defending NFL or AFL champion.

They became the 1st defending Super Bowl champion to miss the playoffs from the 2016 Denver Broncos.

The Rams finished their journey with five wins and 12 losses with 0 tied games.

One of the primary reasons for the downfall of the Rams was injury. The superstars from the last season, Quarterback Matthew Stafford, Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp, and Defensive tackle Aaron Donald had all faced an injury. They had the third-most injured reserve in the league. The head coach Sean had to start 11 offensive lines in the first 11 games.

San Francisco 49ers in 2021-22 season

The San Francisco 49ers emerged as a beast in the 2021-22 season. This was the 49ers’ sixth season under head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch.

The 49ers had a pretty underwhelming start at the beginning of the season. In the season’s first game, they faced a loss against the bears by 19-10. Again, in the third game of the season, they faced a defeat against Broncos in a nail-biting match by 1 point.

But in the second half 49ers completely crushed the Seahawks, and the 49ers went on to win the match. The final score was 41-23.
