Matt LaFleur is an American football coach who currently serves as the head coach of the National Football League’s Green Bay Packers.
He has lost 12 regular-season games and won 42 since becoming a head coach in 2019. LaFleur’s current winning percentage sits at .796.
LaFleur’s 2021 season began with a 38-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints. They went on to win their next six games, bringing the Packers to a Thursday night showdown with the NFL’s last unbeaten team, the 7-0 Arizona Cardinals.
Despite the difficulties, the Packers prevailed, 24-21, thanks to a thrilling last-second interception of Cardinals quarterback Kyle Murray, and LaFleur became the NFL’s winningest head coach through his first 40 career games.
LaFleur’s Packers clinched home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs with a 37-10 Week 17 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, becoming the first team in NFL history to win 13 games in three consecutive seasons.
Furthermore, LaFleur broke George Seifert’s 30-year-old record for the most wins by a head coach (39) in his first three seasons in the league. The victory also meant that LaFleur had never lost consecutive regular season games during his three-year tenure.
