A source close to the New Jersey Senator told People that despite the couple’s split, they are still “good friends.”
In the summer of 2018, at a political fundraiser, Dawson and Booker made their first connection through a common friend. But it wasn’t until December of that year, when they ran into each other again, that they started dating.
At the time, Dawson also expressed to the newspaper her opinion of the politician, calling him “so charming,” “confident,” and “capable.” It’s not like that converts to being this super-smooth kind of man, she continued.
