Pauline, 61, and Linda, 62, have been friends since they were 10 years old, bonding over their love of the arts in primary school.
Robson and Quirke’s mothers were friends, and the two used to meet at church on Sundays before hanging out on the street. They’ve been best friends since they were children, went to the same local drama school, and have been cast together numerous times throughout their careers.
In the early days, they even shared a part-time job so they could follow their burgeoning acting careers.
“I and Pauline shared a barmaid’s job in a local pub. So when I was working, Pauline would fill in at the pub, and when Pauline was working, I would fill in at the pub so we kind of job-shared.”
Pauline and Linda made their first regular TV appearance together in Pauline’s Quirkes, but they shot to fame together in Birds of a Feather in 1989.
