How Is Tennis Player Chris Evert Health As She Is Diagnosed With Stage 1C Ovarian Cancer?

Chris Evert completed her six rounds of chemotherapy this week according to her Tweet. She was diagnosed with stage one of Ovarian cancer in January 2022.

Chris Evert was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at stage 1C. It’s in its early stages, having been identified after a prophylactic hysterectomy.

Cancer was not found anywhere else in her body and she successfully finished the first of six rounds of chemotherapy this week.

Chris Evert Is Suffering From Stage One Ovarian Cancer

Chris Evert, a tennis icon and ESPN commentator, revealed that she was diagnosed with stage one ovarian cancer last January.

‘I wanted to share my stage one ovarian cancer diagnosis and the narrative behind it as a means to help others,’ the 67-year-old posted on Twitter.

‘I consider myself quite fortunate that they found it early, and my treatment regimen is expected to have excellent outcomes.’ Evert said a cancerous tumor was detected during a preventative hysterectomy early last month in an ESPN piece.

The malignancy had been removed during the hysterectomy and had not spread, according to a second procedure.

Former pro tennis player Jeanne Evert Dubin, Evert’s younger sister, died in 2020 at the age of 62 following a struggle with ovarian cancer.

Dubin’s cancer had already spread when he was discovered. Fortunately, this was not the case in her instance, since it was discovered early on before it spread.

‘She is my motivation as I go into chemo,’ Evert stated in the report. ‘I’ll keep her in my thoughts.’ She’ll help me get through it.’

Since retiring from tennis, Evert has worked as an ESPN announcer covering the sport. ‘Thank you all for understanding and supporting my desire to focus on my health and treatment plan,’ she wrote on Twitter.

‘During ESPN’s coverage of the Australian Open, you’ll see me appear from time to time from home.’

Health And Family Update On Tennis Player Chris Evert

On Monday, tennis legend Chris Evert stated that she has finished her sixth and final chemotherapy treatment for stage 1 ovarian cancer. The 18-time Grand Slam winner tweeted, “I’m a bit out of it (meds), but I’m glad and relieved I finished my six chemo treatments.”

She accompanied a video of her with the health care personnel who treated her, ringing a wind chime to commemorate the event.

“Thank you very much for everything. We sincerely hope we will not see you again.” As she prepared to leave the health care center, Evert told the staff with a giggle.

Former pro tennis player Jeanne Evert Dubin, Evert’s younger sister, died in 2020 at the age of 62 following a struggle with ovarian cancer. Dubin’s cancer had already spread when he was discovered.

Evert, 67, claims her doctor assured her that because the disease was found so early, there was a greater than 90% chance it would never recur when the treatments were completed.
