How do I troubleshoot my Amana ice maker?
Why did my Amana fridge stop making ice?
If the water inlet valve is defective, or if it has insufficient pressure, it won’t allow water to flow through. As a result, the ice maker won’t make ice. The valve requires at least 20 psi to function properly. Make sure that the water pressure to the valve is at least 20 psi.
Is there a reset button on an Amana refrigerator?
Most don’t automatically reset. If the appliance has a reset button, it should just need to be held in for 30 seconds to correct the fridge. Some refrigerators, including Maytag and Amana, need to have the lock button and the reset or auto buttons held at the same time to reset the fridge.
How do I test my ice maker water line?
Should the lever be up or down to make ice?
If the wire arm of your ice maker is in the up position, this signifies to the ice maker that the ice storage bucket is full and turns the ice maker off. If you would like your ice maker to continue making ice, the arm lever should be in the down position.
