Thomas Aiden Turgoose is an English actor, best known for his role as Shaun Fields in the film This Is England (2006), a role he reprises in the This Is England TV series This Is England ’86 (2010), This Is England ’88 (2011) and This Is England ’90 (2015).

He ended up auditioning for This is England after visiting a Grimsby youth center and noticing a queue of people outside it. But he admits he would only audition if they paid him £5. According to the This is England website, the team saw something special in Thomas and knew he would be perfect for the role of Shaun.
By his own account, he was playing truant when he chanced on a crowd of youths who turned out to be auditioning for This is England.
He had no particular desire to act, so when his turn came he charged writer/director Shane Meadows £5. He got both the money and the part.
