Natasha died from an allergic reaction after eating a Pret baguette containing sesame. She had bought the bread, among other things, from Heathrow Airport.

The incident took place on a British Airways flight from London to France. She had shared the baguette with her Father Nadim and then collapsed an hour later.

The teenager had a condition called Anaphylaxis. She was severely allergic to sesame seeds, and eating even a small amount was life-threatening to her.

The sellers of the item had failed to disclose the contents and ingredients on their labeling.

‘Natasha’s law’ is the name given to the new law introduced because of Natasha. The law is regarding food and health safety.

The law requires food manufacturers and retailers to display and disclose full ingredient and allergen labeling on all food packaging.

Natasha’s parents expressed that they were grateful for the formulation of the new regulations. Their long journey of campaigning for the cause finally came to fruition.

Today the “Natasha’s Law’ protects 2 to 3m people in the UK with food allergies from life-threatening allergic reactions.
