Chesney’s third studio album, Me and You, his second album on a big label, was released in 1996. The album’s debut single, “Back In My Arms Again,” enjoyed a minor degree of success and came in just outside the Top 40 on the country charts.
The number two position was the highest attained by both the title song, which Chesney had recorded for his last album, and “When I Close My Eyes,” which was originally recorded by Keith Palmer and Larry Stewart.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) granted gold certification to Chesney’s debut album, Me and You.
The CD also included Chesney’s live performance of “Back Where I Come From,” a 1990 hit by Mac McAnally even though it wasn’t issued as a single. Chesney’s achievements during this period led to his winning the 1997 Academy of Country Music’s New Male Vocalist of the Year award.
How did Kenny Chesney lose weight?
Despite not exactly being a heavyweight, Chesney is much thinner now than he was in the beginning of his career in country music. He attributes that to quitting drinking, exercising on a treadmill, and adopting a lean diet so he can continue to perform the high-intensity concerts for which he is well known.
How does Kenny Chesney stay so fit?
“I eat protein and double up on my vegetables,” he says. You feel slimmer in the morning after going to bed without consuming any carbohydrates. What if he wants to munch at night? Chesney has a strategy in place that prevents him from reaching for the leftover pasta or potato chips in the refrigerator.
