Carlos Carrasco is a Venezuelan-born American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball. Carlos Luis Carrasco, nicknamed “Cookie”, was born on March 21, 1987, in Barquisimeto, Venezuela to parents Luis Carrasco and Maria Carrasco.

Carlos Carrasco made his MLB debut with the Cleveland Indians in 2009. He throws and bats right-handed. He has been playing baseball as a third baseman since he was 10 years old. Carlos has been on the World roster for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 All-Star Futures Games.

Carlos Carrasco was named the 41st-best prospect in baseball entering the 2007 season. While signed to the Philadelphia Phillies, Carlos Carrasco compiled a 2.26 ERA in 159+1⁄3 innings pitched after spending the entire 2006 season with the Lakewood BlueClaws.

While with the Philadelphia Phillies, Carlos Carrasco threw his first no-hitter on August 21, 2007. Carlos Carrasco was the 2019 recipient of the Roberto Clemente Award.
