Anele Tembe died in April 2021 after falling from a 10-story building in Cape Town. She was engaged to South African rapper AKA.
Three months after the terrible death of Tembe, the National Prosecuting Authority sent the case back to the police for additional inquiry.
Initially, the Police wrapped the investigation into the death of Nelli Tembe in December. They stated that the death was a suicide case, although, they added, it had elements of suspicious murder. The case was consequently ordered for further investigation.
Anele Tembe Death Concluded By Police
Anele Tembe’s death case has been officially concluded by the police. However, the police are yet to publish their final report.
Tembe’s demise was first started as a “Suicide investigation”. Moreover, her boyfriend, AKA, had denied his involvement in Tembe’s death, insisting that she took her own life. Now, it is said to have Elements of Murder.’
Western Cape police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi has said: ‘Kindly be advised that the investigation into the matter you are referring to has been completed.’
He added: ‘The case has since been referred to the National Prosecuting Authority for a decision, hence the merits of the case will not be discussed on an open platform, in a bid to respect the privacy of the relatives.’
Who Was Anele Tembe? Rapper AKA’s Late Girlfriend
Anele “Nelli” Tembe was born on the 11th of October, 1999. She is originally from Durban, a coastal city in eastern KwaZulu-Natal.
Tembe was an aspirant chef. She was a student at Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine.
Nelli came to the spotlight as the girlfriend of rapper Kiernan Forbes, whose stage name is AKA. After nearly two years of dating, the pair made their relationship public in February 2021.
Nelli then released breathtaking images of an engagement ring on her finger, which propelled their engagement tale.
Four months after the death of Tembe, her boyfriend, AKA, had posted a long tribute on Instagram. He posted a picture with the caption:
‘4 months to this day. It never goes away. Every day I wish to pray for her, myself, and our families. I will never be the same guy I was, but I will do the good I can with the gift and opportunity of life that I still have left. Thank you to everybody who has stuck by me and our respective families. You know who you are.’
He also wrote: ‘I will remember this day for the rest of my life. 11/04/2021. Every day I pray for the healing of your family and my family. I hope one day we can all come together and pay our respects to you and your memory at the same place and at the same time.’
Where Are Anele Tembe Family Now?
Anele Tembe is the daughter of Moses Tembe and Lulu Tembe. Her mother was said to have died from suicide, after which her father wedded Princess Ntandoyesizwe.
Nelli grew up alongside her elder sister Nondumiso Tembe, a South African actress.
The grieving father, Moses Tembe, says his daughter had a big dream. He stated his daughter wanted to open the first Michelin star-graded restaurant in Mzansi. Additionally, he disputes the assertion that his daughter had killed herself.
