Adam Larsson is a Ice hockey defenseman and a captain for Seattle Kraken. He is a Swedish.
The New Jersey Devils picked Larsson fourth overall in the first round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Larsson was ranked by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau as the highest European-based prospect available in the draft, and his selection was seen as a step toward retooling the Devils’ defensive unit.
Due to general manager Lou Lamoriello’s opposition to performance bonuses, Larsson signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Devils on July 15, 2011, at the NHL maximum annual salary of US$925,000.
This was exceptional, according to J.P. Barry, the agent for top-10 overall pick Larsson.
