Holly was fortunate not to wait for too long before starting her career, she got her first big break professionally when Holly joined the Met Office after graduating. Holly went on to train as a weather forecaster before shifting to the RAF (Royal Air Force) in Coningsby.
The station started back in the year 1940, starting out as a bomber station. It later changed to become the Boeing Washington aircraft and Jet Aircraft. While at the station, Holly mainly provided pilots with detailed forecasts and briefings. This was a high-pressure job that entailed a lot of accuracies since a simple factual error could lead to death.
