Herm Edwards married wife Lia Edwards in an intimate ceremony on June 30, 2000. Herm has two daughters named Gabrielle and Vivian Edwards.
The ASU coach met Lia on a plane in 1994. And since their wedding, Lia has been Herm’s pillar and has supported him through thick and thin. After their marriage, Herm began to work as the head coach of the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL from 2001 to 2008.
However, after retiring as an NFL coach, Edwards took a turn and began working as an ESPN football analyst for eight years.
The former Chiefs head coach and Eagles player recently joined ABC News to answer burning questions ahead of the football’s biggest night, the Super Bowl.
Herm Edwards Wife Lia Is A Philanthropist
Herm tied the knot with Lia Edwards in 2000 after meeting on a plane in 1994. Herm is fifteen years older than Lia Camara.
After dating for over five years and walking down the aisle, Herm and Lia are embracing their married life and raising two beautiful daughters.
Besides, Lia has been a philanthropist since her battle with Type 1 diabetes and has been actively involved in multiple charitable organizations to help those facing the same struggle.
As mentioned in The Sun Devils, she gathered other coaches’ wives for the JDRF Gala Art Day in Scottsdale to support Type 1 diabetes in 2018.
In addition, since Herm resumed his role as head coach in 2018, Lia has extended her professional experience, worked with other coaches’ wives, and given back to the community.
Lia Battled With Type 1 Diabetes
Lia was in her early 20s when she discovered she had type 1 diabetes. The news was shocking for her and required her to change her way of life.
The changes required her to inject herself with insulin shots. At that time, Edwards didn’t anticipate having diabetes or any other ailment as she was young and healthy.
After years of struggle, Lia finally chose to continue eating her favorite food.
She kept track of her sugar intake and determined the amount of insulin she needed to inject to maintain her health rather than letting the illness define what she could and could not eat.

Likewise, his younger daughter, Vivian, was born on August 27, 2006, weighing around 8 pounds and 15 ounces, as reported by PEOPLE. The age gap between the Edwards sisters is one year.
Having an athletic gene, Gabrielle and Vivian were actively involved in sports and reportedly played on a collegiate volleyball team.
The family of four shares a close bond and is often spotted together attending multiple radio programs. Aside from this, Herm and Lia surprised their daughters with a surprise trip to Disneyland on May 3, 2019.
Edwards and Lia were supposed to make the announcement together, but due to some obstacles, the 67-year-old met his family in Southern California the other day.
Marcus Edwards Is The Eldest Child
Herman has a 40-year-old son named Marcus Edwards from a previous relationship. He missed the birth of his first child because he was playing with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Marcus was a senior wide receiver at Clearwater Central Catholic High School in Tampa but only had three years of competitive football.
Growing up in a football environment, Marcus started playing ball while enrolling at San Jose State when his dad was a coach.
At home, the Edwards family tries to avoid football talks, have quality family time, and talk about school and other stuff, according to buccaneers.com.
