Henry Cavill is returning for the Enola Holmes movie sequel. Enola Holmes movie is based on the fictional book series written by Nancy Springer. The character Enola Holmes is the teenage sister of the world-renowned detective Sherlock Holmes.
The first movie in the Enola Holmes series came out in 2020. Henry Cavill portrays the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes, while Millie Bobby Brown plays the title character.
The second movie to follow up the Enola Holmes movie is set to release on November 4, 2022. Henry Cavill is set to reprise his role as Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming Enola Holmes 2 movie.

Looking at other cast and crew from the movie, apart from Henry Cavill, Millie Bobbie Brown plays the titular character of Enola Holmes. Millie Bobby Brown is also involved in this movie as a producer.
Moreover, Helena Bonham Carter returns as Eudoria Holmes for the second movie and plays the role of the mother to Sherlock, Mycroft, and Enola. Likewise, Lewis Partridge also returns to his role of Viscount Tewkesbury from the first movie and so does Adeel Akthar as Lestrade.
Among the returnees also include Susie Wokoma as Edith. Interestingly, however, Sam Claflin who played the role of Mycroft Holmes, a government officer and also the eldest of the three Holmes sibling roles is not returning for the sequel. It was reported that the actor’s schedule didn’t allow him to be a part of the film.
However, the makers recently stated that if new movies are added to the franchise in the future, they would wish to have Sam Claflin playing Mycroft Holmes again.
What can we expect from Henry Cavill’s Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming movie?
We can expect a lot from Henry Cavill’s Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming Enola Holmes 2 movie. As we have mentioned in the paragraph above, in the first movie, not much focus was put on Cavill’s Sherlock Holmes.
However, the second movie looks like it will have more scenes of Cavill’s Sherlock Holmes. At least, we can expect to see the portray Sherlock far more than what we got in the first movie.
Looking at the two released trailers, we can expect a lot more interaction and dialogue between the two siblings i.e., Enola and Sherlock. Also, while Enola is trying to find her footing as a detective, Sherlock supporting her seems perfect.
Henry Cavill’s acting abilities are unquestionable and we already know how well he portrayed Sherlock Holmes in the first movie. And now, we seem to be getting just more of that.
Hence, we can say that we expect a great performance from Henry Cavill as the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes himself in the upcoming Enola Holmes 2 movie.

There have been numerous notable Sherlock Holmes portrayals. As we’ve already stated, many actors over time have played the role of Sherlock Holmes rendering the character in different ways.
Some of the more famous portrayals include Robert Downey Jr’s Sherlock Holmes, Peter Cushing’s version, Basil Rathbone’s Sherlock, Jeremy Brett’s version, and Benedict Cumberbatch’s version of the character.
All of these actors managed to bring Sherlock Holmes to life in a proper way and the fans loved it. All of these actors have brought their taste into the character while also remaining true to the nature of the character.
However, these were not the only ones to bring the character to life successfully. Many more actors have done so over the years. It would take too long to list all these amazing actors but they deserve honorable mention.
Actors such as Douglas Wilmar, Arthur Wontner, Tom Baker, Nicholas Rowe, Ellie Norwood, Ian McKellen, etc. among others have also managed to play Sherlock Holmes successfully.
Amidst all these, Henry Cavill can proudly stand with them together and say that his portrayal of the character has been great and authentic. Also, we’ve not seen much from his version. But we are slated to do more of it starting November 4. And we are confident, when it’s all set and done, his portrayal will be one of the better ones among so many out there.
We can’t wait to see how Henry Cavill continues to portray Sherlock Holmes and how his rendition of the character will be while respecting and keeping the source material intact.
