Initially, Heather was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WPIX in New York City before she joined KTVU. While at the station, Heather covered a number of breaking news events as a reporter for the WB11 News at Ten.
Her work as an anchor and reporter from 2002-2005 with News 12 Long Island gained her multiple accolades, including two regional Emmy awards. As the environmental reporter at the New York area station, she uncovered illegal dumping in county-owned parks and exposed problems within the county’s land acquisition program.
