Haystak grew up in poor circumstances in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was born to young parents and raised by his grandparents. As he grew older, he began to engage in criminal activity, eventually being apprehended for taking Valium and cocaine to school at the age of 15. The rapper Haystak found solace in rap music after serving a two-year prison term for drug possession. Haystak was first recognised for being a big white-boy rapper from Tennessee, but over time, his fans grew to appreciate his genuineness, and he was able to overcome his anomalous position. Haystak, in contrast to many of his Southern contemporaries, did not embrace materialism and greed; instead, he rapped about his existence as so-called “white trash,” addressing the social aspects of being white and poor in the Southern United States. Few, on the other hand, believed in the enormous rural boy’s ability to achieve. When he was in his late twenties, he beat the odds by teaming up with a local hip-hop label, Street Flavor, as well as producers Kevin Grisham and Sonny Paradise.
The collaboration culminated in Mak Million, Haystak’s first album, which was released in 1998, and Car Fulla White Boys, which was released two years later. The rapper had built up a significant regional following by this time, and the underground hardcore rap magazine Murder Dog was particularly supportive of the young artist’s development. Consequently, Koch Records was drawn to Haystak, who signed with the label and re-released Car Fulla White Boys in the summer of 2000. Haystak’s third studio album, The Natural, was released by Koch two years later. Haystak’s newest solo album, Easy 2 Hate, was released on November 30, 2010 by Haystak, Inc., the record label he founded. Haystak is married and has two children, one of them is a daughter. In addition to rapping, he has pursued an acting career, appearing in documentaries such as White Boyz Can’t Rap and Hustle & Flow, in which he portrayed a DJ called Mickey, among others. During the recording of the album Strictly Business in 2011, Haystak worked with JellyRoll, a Nashville, Tennessee resident. The album reached number 67 on the Billboard 200 Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and number 16 on the Top Heatseekers Albums Chart.
The sequel, titled Business As Usual, was published on November 19, 2013. Haystak was born in Lebanon, Tennessee, and grew up there. He claims Nashville as his home since Lebanon is just outside of Nashville’s borders. Haystak’s most recent song, “Where I’ve Been,” is inspired by his own life and the lessons he has learnt. On December 17, 1997, he was charged with Statutory Rape. He was taken into custody on this allegation on January 9, 2004. According to court documents, the lawsuit was dismissed. On October 19, 1997, he was accused of rape once again. On February 17, 2006, he was taken into custody on this accusation. After pleading guilty to assault and fear of physical harm, Haystak was found guilty and sentenced to prison. He was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in prison. Haystak was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days of supervised probation, which was suspended. Haystak was released after that period.
